Nothing to hide, says Minister

KORAPUT: Truth could be revealed in its entirety in the alleged financial irregularities in the implementation of the World Bank-funded Orissa Health System Development Project (OHSDP) if a CBI probe was ordered, according to Durjyadhan Majhi, Minister for Health and Family Welfare.

Talking to the media in the circuit house here on Sunday morning, he said while the Government was vigilant in maintaining transparency, looking at the political situation in the State, a probe by CBI would help in building a greater image of the party among people, he added.

Later, addressing as chief guest launch ceremony of “Sahyog – Reaching the Unreached -- project of LEPRA society, held at DNK Conference hall, he joined Ashok Kumar Pangi, president, Koraput ZP, in demanding a medical college at Koraput . Joint ventures by organizing public-private partnership could make the dream a reality, he added.

Loknath Acharya, Director of Health Services, Terry Vasey, Chief Executive and Jenny Barraclough, chairperson of LEPRA UK, spoke . Doctors, officials from the Health Department and health service providers from three districts attended the function. Sasikant Nayak, Project Coordinator, LEPRA Society, presided over the meeting.
