Media role

India finally gave a jolt to Australia’s ego. The 11 players came as a team to scuttle the Australia’s ambition to set world record. But many intellectuals in the country felt ashamed of the way our media portrayed the victory with revenge.

I want the media to introspect on their conduct after the World Cup debacle. Why are Indian media so childish? They should be should be like Australian media, more mature. See, how they have criticised their own team when it behaved unfairly.

These media houses should remember that not only Indians but also a few thousands of Australians would watchtheir programmes.

Check landgrab

Several patches of government land near the proposed international railway station are being grabbed. By the time the new railway station comes up, they would have become crorepatis.

Why has the State Government not ensured protection of government land near the proposed new railway station for its future use? The Government could have thought of building a conference hall or guesthouse near the railway station to save administrative cost.

The Railway Ministry should look into the matter. All citizens should get equitable share of rights to have land.

Medical course fee

The medical admission has evoked huge public outcry over admission fee. A few rich students managed to get admission while poor students could not. If the State Government puts a quality check mechanism in place for students, quality of doctors being produced in different private medical colleges would be ensured. A student cannot become a good doctor on the strength of money alone.
