KOCHI: Technological advancement should have made workers’ lives more safe, but in India, the number of deaths of workers in accident at worksites is increasing, according to Sanjay Singhvi, Trade Union Centre of India’s national secretary. Mr. Singhvi, who opened a leadership camp here on Sunday, said the TUCI would launch a trade union for construction workers shortly. He said most States were yet to implement the laws and rules made by the Centre for the welfare and safety of construction workers. The meeting discussed the problems faced by the workers in the construction sector.
