Nine killed in accidents

Sangareddy: Five onlookers including two women and two children witnessing a Muharram procession in Kalher were crushed under a tractor on Sunday. Saradabai (35), Mamata (5), Kavitha (5), Sangu Pochaiah (30) and an unidentified old woman died on the spot when a tractor carrying heavy load of sugarcane to the GSR Sugar Mills turned turtle crushing them. Another ten persons received serious injuries in the freak accident and the condition of at least three of them was said to be critical.

ANANTAPUR: A couple and two children, were killed when the two-wheeler they were riding on rammed into a lorry near Rayalacheruvu village of Yadiki mandal in the district on Sunday. All the four died on the spot.

According to the police, Venkataramana (35) of Nagaruru village in Yadiki mandal was on way to Pyapili in Kurnool district on his motorbike along with his wife Savitri (30), Uma (8) and Lokesh (6).

The accident occurred when he reportedly tried to overtake a lorry and did not notice an oncoming lorry and rammed into it.
