BANGALORE: Several members of the State Legislative Council on Sunday suggested that they should have regular consultation with Governor Rameshwar Thakur to bring the issues related to development and problems of people to his notice in the absence of the Legislative Assembly. The suggestion was made by the members at a seminar organised by the Legislative Council here on “Status and working of the Legislative Council.” Following this, Legislative Council Chairman B.K. Chandrashekar decided to lead a small delegation of senior MLCs and floor leaders in the Upper House to impress on the Governor on the need for such an interaction. Prof. Chandrashekar told The Hindu that the MLCs, who had been receiving memorandums from the general public on various issues in the last two months, wanted to bring them to the notice of the Governor. Prof. Chandrashekar said he was also considering a proposal to know if the MLCs could be associated in an advisory capacity with a development department.
