BANGALORE: Several people joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Sunday. They included industrialist Prasad Reddy and his followers. They were welcomed to the party by the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa at a function. Speaking on the occasion, the former Chief Minister charged that the Congress was trying to indefinitely postpone the elections for the Legislative Assembly on the pretext of implementing the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission. The BJP, however, was firm that elections to the Legislative Assembly should be held at the earliest, and should the Union Government attempt to delay, then the party would not hesitate to move the court. Mr. Yeddyurappa said the Congress was in a state of panic following the defeat in the elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
