Police control room set up

PALANI: A police control room was set up near the temple to enable pilgrims to get all information and to lodge complaints if any. People may contact the control room by dialling the telephone number: 04545-242348.
Over 50 cameramen would videograph all pilgrims visiting Sri Dhandayuthapaniswamy temple. Police would move along with pilgrims in around temple area and intensify surveillance, according to Superintendent of Police A. Pari.
Traffic diversion was introduced on Oddanchatram-Palani main road since Sunday. This diversion would be in force till Tuesday, Thai Poosam Day. A strong force of 2,500 policemen would be engaged in security duty. Special dog squad had also been deployed.
All vehicles proceeding to Palani would be diverted through Oddanchatram-Dharapuram road, Kallimandhayam, Porulur and Thoppampatti to reach Palani. Buses returning from Palani to Oddanchatram would go through the usual route. Buses coming from Erode and Coimbatore districts would take a turn at Little Flower Convent to reach the temporary bus stand. The existing bus stand would be utilised to park cars and other vehicles. All tourist buses would enter Devasthana bus stand through Itteri Road.
