ALUVA: Kolkata’s L.V. Adarsha Vidyalaya HSS won a tiebreaker for the third successive time in the seventh Mar Athanasious Trophy all-India inter-school football tournament and entered the final at the Municipal Stadium here on Sunday evening. After a 1-1 draw, the Kolkata side upset defending champion Subulu Salam HSS (Moorkanad, Malappuram) 5-3, via the tie-breaker, in the semifinal. Captain K.Jamshid gave Subulu Salam the lead with a stunning longranger which caught the Adarsha goalkeeper Santy Paul napping in the 28th minute. Eight minutes later, the Kolkata boys celebrated wildly when Biswajit Halder struck the equaliser. The match was a close thriller but in the tiebreaker, it was Adarsha all the way. – Principal Correspondent
