Bangalore: The SSA Football Academy, Mizoram, entered the final of the Nike-Manchester United Premier Cup under-15 football tournament in progress at the Duler Football Stadium in Goa. According to an official press release, SSA FA defeated defending champions East Bengal 5-3 through tie-breaker in the semi-final. In the final, the Mizoram lads will take on SBHS Football Academy, Punjab, which defeated St. Stephen’s, Chandigarh, 5-4, also through tie-breaker. The results (semifinals): SBHS Football Academy 5 (Amritpal Singh 2, Ranjodh Singh, Prabhjit Singh, Nirwal Singh) bt St. Stephen’s Football Academy 4 (Jonychand Singh 2, Rahul Anand, Manish Mundri). SSA 5 (Lalmum Kima, Lal Munfela, Lal Hungchhunga, Lal Ruatfela and Lal Chhuammawia) bt East Bengal 3 (Amiya Mondal, Amit Chakrobarty, Ajay Roy).
