Vijaya Bank to open new branches

PUDUKOTTAI: Vijaya Bank will open its branches at 16 centres in Tamil Nadu, its Executive Director T. Valliyappan said on Saturday.
The branches will be opened at Tiruvanmiyur, Perambur, Madipakkam, Coimbatore (Tiruchi Road), Kumbakonam, Chidambaram, Tiruvarur, Dharmapuri, Koothanallur, Pattukottai, Ambattur, Devakottai, Nagapattinam, Kancheepuram, Mayiladuthrai and Rangiyam, he told presspersons here.
The branch at Rangiyam village in Pudukottai district will be inaugurated on Sunday, while the other branches will be opened in the course of time.
The bank has 715 Automated Teller Machine services all over the country including 15 in Tamil Nadu. It has also introduced ATM-enabled Kisan Card to benefit the farming community.
The bank’s annual turnover is Rs.72,000 crore, its deposits stood at about Rs.43,000 crore and the advances at Rs.28,000 crore. The bank’s gross non-performing assets (NPA) ratio is 2.2 per cent and the net NPA is 0.44 per cent. Earlier, Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests S. Regupathi declared open the ATM at the bank’s branch premises here.
He also gave away economic assistance, self-employment and educational loans totalling Rs.17.15 lakh.
