GHMC besieged with pleas for copy of sanctioned plans Corporation to visit each locality, set things right HYDERABAD: Eager but confused. That is the state of mind, of many apartment-owners seeking to regularise their constructions and obtain occupation certificates under the Compulsory Disclosure Scheme (CDS). Though many are furious on being asked to pay up, even as builders and officials responsible for the mess going scot-free, they want to pay up. The only problem is they have no clue about the extent of deviation of their apartments. If there is a setback violation in some apartments, cantilever violations in others, an illegal floor, extra number of flats and the likes. As it is, the norm among builders is not to give original land and plan documents to flat owners or the association on some pretext or the other. Genuine documentsAnd those who have the said documents are not sure if they are genuine! “We are interested in regularising but the plan copy we have does not tally with the actual construction. What do we do?” asked a harassed flat owner in Begumpet, echoing an-all-too-familiar dilemma. GHMC offices are being besieged with requests seeking a copy of the sanctioned plans. But, officials point out that it would be impossible to give out copies of each and every apartment owner. “The number running into thousands, it will be difficult even if the entire staff is involved,” said a senior official. The Corporation website too has details of latest building plans and not old ones. However, not to despair as the GHMC has prepared a schedule to go around each locality to explain to people about CDS, sell applications on the spot, answer queries, take payments and in ‘fit’ cases, give occupation certificates, instantly. BRS cases clearedChief City Planner B. Purushothama Reddy said circle-wise visits would begin from January 22 with prior intimation in the media. He also said Government had cleared 194 pending cases under the old Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS). All the cleared buildings were residential houses and they just need to pay pending amounts to get clearance certificates. Intimation letters were sent to owners. The pending multi-storied buildings cases in BRS need NOCs from the Fire Services department and Airport Authority of India before they are processed further.
