NKC to provide training to artisans

National Knowledge Commission Chairman Sam Pitroda has said that the commission will provide free skill level upgradation training to traditional artisans throughout the country.

He told leaders of Artisans’ Welfare Organisation (AWO) during his recent visit that they should sponsor talented candidates for training. AWO leaders V. Viswanadhan (Bhillai), K. Krishna Rao Achari, A. Ravindra Chari, L. Venkatachari (Hyderabad), Y. Bhaskaracharyulu (Vizag) and Lalit Sharma (Raipur), who met Mr. Pitroda were told that it was the main objective of NKC to eliminate poverty among traditional artisans.
