New facility is being accommodated in the University at the cost of Rs. 70 lakh HYDERABAD: The Osmania University’s proposed Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) training centre and finishing school would be launched in the forthcoming academic year. The school will be offering diploma and short-term certified courses to improve the communication and soft skills of the students. Classes will be conducted in the morning and evening in two batches, OU Registrar Mutha Reddy said on Sunday. The new facility is being accommodated in the University Centre for International Programmes (OUCIP) premises with a cost of over Rs. 70 lakh with state-of-the-art technology. Apart from OU students, those pursuing their graduation and post-graduation in the affiliated colleges too are eligible for admissions into these courses. The objective of the school is to prepare the students for jobs in customer care and other voice-based operating companies. Satyam BPO has been roped in to develop the course curriculum and the methodologies required in training the students. Big boonProf. Reddy said these courses would be a big boon to the students, especially to those from rural areas. Those who take up these courses can also appear for the increasing employment opportunities in the fields of hospitality industry, retail, airline operations, banking, insurance sectors, etc., he added.
