Advanced medical equipment commissioned

Main reason for many diseases is the increase in population: Chief Minister

NEW FACILITY: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi commissioning an advanced medical equipment at Bharat Scans in Chennai on Sunday. Rajathi Ammal and R. Emmanuel, managing director, Bharat Scans (right), are in the picture.

CHENNAI: Thanks to the joint effort of the State Government and private practitioners, people, especially in the lower strata of society, have developed faith in advanced medical technology, said Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Sunday.

Commissioning advanced medical equipment such as 3Telsa MRI, Spect CT (nuclear scan), iDexa scan, 4D Ultrasound, Echo cardiogram and Digital radiography at Bharat Scans, the Chief Minister said that after the advent of scan in 1998, even poor people wanted to take a scan to know about their health. With the invention of several medical equipment, it was possible to know the exact cause of the disease.

He said the main reason for many diseases was the increase in population. As and when the population increased, the diseases increased. By controlling the population, diseases, especially contagious diseases, could be controlled. Doctors should ensure that there was less number of patients by administering proper vaccines.

Earlier, Rajathi Ammal lighted a lamp.
