DMDK to contest polls on its own

Staff Reporter

DINDIGUL: Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam will contest on its own in the next Parliamentary election, said party leader Vijaykant.

Announcing this at a private function held at Periakulam near here on Sunday, he said that already regional parties and national parties had failed miserably to fulfil the basic needs of common man. Both the AIADMK and the DMK promised to eradicate poverty, but did not do so till now. Reacting to the remarks made by AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa, Mr. Vijaykant said that he never declared himself as political heir of AIADMK founder M.G. Ramachandran. “MGR is my political guru. I would like to follow his path.”
