KOLKATA: Steel baron L.N. Mittal called on West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee here on Sunday and discussed issues pertaining to the power, steel and petrochemical sectors as well as to the infrastructure development in the State. Mr. Mittal told newspersons that he was “very impressed” with the Chief Minister and with the changes taking place in the State. Mr. Mittal said nothing specific was discussed though the Chief Minister did speak of the proposed petrochemical and petroleum investment region (PCPIR). Officials of his company will be asked to follow up the meeting as well as look into a possible linking of the Bhatinda refinery with the petrochemical complex here after talks with HPCL.
