Air-India flies high
Mumbai: Abass Bashiru’s last minute goal helped Air-India defeat Sporting Clube de Goa in the 12th round of the ONGC I-League football championship here on Sunday.
In the 17th minute, Sporting’s Parvinder Singh struck a left-footer from 30 yards. But it was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Arnab Das Sharma.
Both the teams stepped up attack in the second half created several chances.
Finally Bashiru struck in the 89th minute. Uttam Singh’s throw-in was headed by Suley Musah to Bashiru and he headed it to the right side of the post.
Air-India coach Bimal Ghosh was pleased with his team’s performance. — PTI
