Rape case: youth detained at airport

KOCHI: A youth, who was wanted in connection with the rape of a minor girl, was detained by the Emigration wing of the Cochin International Airport on Monday.

Sources said that Stinny, 20, of Thrissur was wanted by the Peramangalam police for molesting a 17-year-old girl. He was detained as he tried to fly out in a Qatar Airlines’ flight and later handed over to the Thrissur police. The police had issued a look-out notice for him. The officer who identified him has been rewarded and action initiated against another officer who failed to identify him when he arrived here from Dubai on January 12.
