KOCHI: The district administration and the police have decided to step up security and surveillance at Thrikkunnathu seminary, Aluva, following the failure of discussions held between representatives of Jacobite and Orthodox factions of the Malankara Church. The church has been closed after claims made by both the factions for St. Mary’s Church and the annual festival is coming up on January 25. Inspector General of Police, Ernakulam Range, Vinson M. Paul told the meeting that no breach of law and order situation would be allowed during these days. With the meeting failing to reach any consensus, the District Collector has been entrusted to evolve a decision regarding the conduct of the festival. – Staff Reporter
