This Day That Age
India has lodged a protest for the second time on January 20 with the Security Council against the construction of the Mangla Dam by Pakistan in that part of Kashmir occupied by her. The first protest was made in August last year when the details of the project were known. This protest follows the conclusion of an agreement between Pakistan and two British and one American firm for the construction of the multi-purpose dam. India’s objection follows her basic stand that the territory in the possession of Pakistan is part of Kashmir State and consequently, of India and, therefore, Pakistan’s action was a violation of Indian sovereignty.
