Cash awards presented

NEW DELHI: Members of the Indian hockey team were presented cash awards by the Secretary, Union Sports Ministry, S.K. Arora, at a function here on Monday.

The cash awards, ranging from Rs.1.5 lakh to Rs.4 lakh, were given away to 14 players.

The women’s team was rewarded for its title win in the 2005 Asia Cup apart from its silver medal in the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the bronze in the Doha Asian Games.
