Dharna staged

Chitradurga: The district committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a dharna at Vanake Vobbavva Circle here on Monday, seeking various demands. District president G.M. Suresh, who led the dharna, alleged that even after three months of the local body elections, elected representatives had not been given their due powers.

Accusing Governor Rameshwar Thakur of working at the behest of the Congress, he said Mr. Thakur was not implementing welfare schemes, according to a press release. — Staff Correspondent
