Technopark to host major meets

Thiruvananthapuram: The Technopark campus at Kazhakuttam here will host the second edition of the Indian STEPs (Science and Technology Entrepreneurs’ Parks) and Business Incubation Association’s ISBA 2008 conference from January 31- February 2. The theme of the conference this year is ‘Global leadership through innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship.’

Along with ISBA 2008, Technopark is also holding two prestigious events, the meeting of the National Advisory Committee for the STEPs under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the national meet of the TePP Outreach Centres (TUC) under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).

The three-day ISBA conference seeks to create a proper framework for the business incubation process and to institutionalise its working, covering all facets of business activity. It is aimed at providing a platform for all stakeholders to converge and discuss how business incubation can contribute towards the equitable creation of wealth. The conference will bring together ISBA members, academicians, research and development institutions, and other players from the industry, to work out strategies to broadbase India’s growth. R.K. Nair, CEO, Technopark, said, “It is a great honour bestowed on Technopark to host ISBA 2008, along with the other two events of DST and DSIR. Trivandrum shall witness the convergence of distinguished personalities, top notch entrepreneurs and delegates from the World Bank to discuss the present and future of business incubation.”

ISBA is the apex professional body supporting business incubation across the country.
