What they say

T. P. Kalaniti

T. P. Kalaniti, Dean, Government General Hospital: We have over 200 beds in tower blocks 1 and 2. At present 100 beds in tower 1 have been thrown open to public. More than 50 per cent of the beds are occupied. If it [the concept] becomes popular the other rooms in the hospital would be opened. Five duty doctors have been drafted specially for the wards. They will act as liaison officers to contact specialists in the hospital to suit patients’ varying needs. We have appointed special category staff. Usually for 30 patients we have one sanitary worker, but for pay wards we have three workers for every 11 patients.
