Councillor dies

G. Ramu, councillor of ward 52 of Madurai Corporation, died of cardiac arrest here on Monday. He was 45.

Ramu joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam after winning the election in Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ticket. “He was a good worker,” the party leader in the council, K.R. Murugesan, said.

He is survived by his wife and five children.
