St. Stephen’s clinches Premier Cup

Bangalore: St. Stephen’s Football Academy (SFA), Chandigarh, won the Nike-Manchester United Premier Cup under-15 football tournament at the Duler Football Stadium in Goa on Sunday.

SFA defeated Mahindra United 1-0. Harpreet Bedi scored the clincher for SFA in the second half.

SFA will now compete in the South East Asia regional finals at Kuala Lumpur later this year.

In the third place play-off, Salgaocar Sports Club (SSC) defeated Sporting Club de Goa 3-0. Jesvil D’Souza, Godfrey Silva and Pandhari Chopdekar scored for SSC. — Principal Correspondent
