Indian Bank clinches titleAt Paramkudi, Indian Bank (Chennai) won the men’s title in the Ayira Vaisya Basketball Club State-level basketball tournament defeating Southern Railway (Chennai) 71-69 for its third win in the last match of the semifinal round-robin league on Sunday. Southern Railway finished runner-up, losing only to Indian Bank. Southern Railway led 24-17 at the end of the first quarter and 39-37 at the end of the second. From there it was a neck-to-neck fight between the teams and the lead changed often before Indian Bank clinched the issue at 71-69. Armed Police (Chennai) beat Loyola College (Chennai) 49-39 for its only win and finished third.
