KOCHI: The print media in China is facing fierce competition from online journalism, Yaodong Wang, Delhi Chief of Wen Hui Daily, Shanghai, China, said here on Monday. Interacting with a group of journalists along the sidelines of the inaugural session of the international conference on India-China-U.S. Triangle here, Mr. Wang said that online media had revolutionised the whole scene in his country. Online services were responding electronically to the readers. Newspapers were forced to start their own websites, he said. ‘News websites get millions of clicks daily. This is the latest trend in Chinese journalism,” Mr. Wang said. Pointing out that the timing of the conference was interesting, Mr. Wang said that it was right to have a triangular sort of dialogue and conference involving the three nations. He said that the conference would provide a platform for scholars to come together and share their thoughts on India, China and the U. S. The aim was to stabilise relationships either bilaterally or trilaterally. “We have to remember that these countries are called the influential countries for the future,” he said. Mr. Wang said that Sino-Indian relations were really positive from the turn of the millennium. “I believe the high-level consultations will continue. China and India have a lot of potential for cooperation,” he said.
