CUTTACK: Cuttack, the birthplace of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, is all set to celebrate yet another birth anniversary of the son of the soil on Wednesday. Joining the bandwagon of celebration for the first time this year is the Stewart School of the city. The Stewart school authorities have now established the fact that Netaji had his first formal school education from this school about a hundred years ago. Ravenshaw Collegiate, another alma mater of Netaji is also celebrating the occasion in grand style. The Old Students’ Association of the school is organizing a public meeting on the school campus in which the Union minister P R Dasmunshi is scheduled to attend. Dasmunshi in his capacity as AIFF chief is coming to the city on Wednesday to attend the final match of the All India Kalinga Cup Football tournament. Similarly, the Forward Bloc has an elaborate plan to celebrate the day in grand style. Several national leaders of the party are scheduled to attend various programmes in the city, said state party chief S K Mitra. Meanwhile, the district administration and the local civic body have also chalked out their plan to observe Netaji Jayanti. But the local administration’s plan for celebration is going to be low-key affair as there would not be any public meeting on the day.
