‘BJP more youth-oriented’

Staff Correspondent

Chitradurga: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) offers better opportunities for growth to the youth, several of them from the State have been joining the party, district unit BJP president G.M. Suresh has said.

Speaking after inducting advocate Pilal Shivanna into party here on Tuesday, he said the process of leaders from other parties joining the BJP had been continuing. In the coming days, the party was expecting more entrants, he added.

In response to his induction, Mr. Shivanna said being from a backward community, he had keenly compared the welfare programmes formulated by the BJP and other parties. For years, parties such as the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) had been indulging in empty rhetoric without making concrete development plans.

He said that after considering such aspects, he had decided to join the BJP and to work for the welfare of his people.
