Meet on preventive and social medicine

PUDUCHERRY: The Department of Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM) of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is organising the 35th Annual National Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSMCON 2008) .

According to M.B. Soudarssanane, Professor and Head, Department of PSM,

Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss would inaugurate the conference on Wednesday in the presence of Lt Governor Mukut Mithi at 6 p.m.

“Health economics” and “adequate allocation and resource redistribution” are the topics chosen for the conference.

JIPMER Director K.S.V.K. Subba Rao would inaugurate the scientific sessions at the institute.

A total of 520 delegates have registered to attend the conference that would be held at JIPMER’s Banting Hall.

Association president C.S. Pandav from AIIMS and Secretary General Bir Singh also from AIIMS would participate in the conference, which is being sponsored by the World Health Organisation.
