Bail plea rejected

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A court here on Tuesday rejected a bail plea by the chairman of a software company whose employees had alleged that he had not honoured their contracts.

Metropolitan Magistrate J. P. Nahar rejected the bail plea of K. K. Chaturvedi in view of the enormity of the alleged crime and on the ground that investigations in the case were still going on.

The court observed that not a single complainant’s contract seemed to have been honoured.

Earlier, Chaturvedi offered to deposit Rs.8 lakh with the court. However, counsels for prosecution and the complainant had opposed the bail plea on the ground that it was not a case of cheating one man but a scam involving several people. Several IT professionals had reached the Patiala House courts on Tuesday to oppose the bail plea.
