Newborn baby abducted, rescued

ATTUR: Police personnel here rescued a newborn baby abducted by a woman from the Attur Government Hospital on Monday.

Police said Vennila of Kallakurichi, who gave birth to girl a few days ago, found her missing in the hospital on Monday evening. She alerted the Attur police.

A team found the woman, Sumathi (24) of Ohaiyur village, with the baby aboard a bus in Talavasal. Enquiries revealed that she had abducted the baby from Attur GH.

A case was registered.
