A rally for wildlife protection

BANGALORE: To encourage wildlife conservation awareness and inculcate a sense of adventure among youth, a 2,000-km motorcycle rally on the theme “Wild to Ocean 2008” will be organised by Adventure Sports Association of India from Wednesday.
Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, the former MLA and the association president, M.R. Sitaram, said that the rally team consisting of 30 members, including eight women, led by Acharya Babu T. Raghu, would convey the message to the rural people through the medium of street plays and story telling.
The 15-day rally would cover places such as Bhimeshwari, Biligiriranganabetta, Nagarahole, Rajamalai, Periyar, Kodaikanal, Munnar, Ooty, Abbe Falls, Hogenekkal Falls, Coimbatore, Kannur and Mysore, Mr. Sitaram said.
