This Day That Age
Over 60 weather experts from 31 countries and International organisations assembled in New Delhi on January 21 at the second session of the Commission for Synoptic Meteorology, which was inaugurated by Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri, Union Minister for Transport and Communications. The Commission is concerned mainly with world weather reporting and mapping and the organisation and maintenance of tele-communication facilities for the collection and distribution of weather information all over the world. The session is presided over by Dr. W. Bleeker, President of the Commission. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri stressed the importance of meteorology to India.
