The successful placing in orbit of Israeli satellite Tecsar by India’s PSLV-C10 on Monday is another red letter day in our space history. On a day when the sensex witnessed a bad day, the successful launch from Sriharikota is a good thing. The fact that we have grown beyond self-sufficiency in space science is a very promising aspect. S. Lakshmi Priya, Srirangam Our scientists have reason to be proud of the perfect launch of Tecsar. However, it is disheartening to read that the Israeli media have said that the satellite will spy on Iran. Was that why Israel wanted to keep the launch under wraps? Maggie Thomas, Chennai
