Coimbatore: An unbeaten 92 by G. Sri Vardhan and a vital spell by off-spinner Sakthi Vignesh (five for six) enabled Mani HSS score a convincing 143-run win over Kikani HSS and a place in the last four of the CDCA inter-school cricket tournament for the Saravana Jewellers Trophy at the Forest College grounds here on Tuesday. At the SNR Sons grounds, R. Marimuthu (six for 25) spun R.K.S. Kalvi Nilayam HSS to a thumping 202-run win over Raghavendra MHSS. VCV GHSS and Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidyalaya MHSS were the two other teams to make it to the semifinal grade. The scores: At Forest College: VCV w/o Nehru MHSS; Mani HSS 178 for two in 25 overs (G. Sri Vardhan 92 n.o., S. Vasanth 58) bt Kikani HSS 35 in 11.4 overs (Sakthi Vignesh five for six, Nandakumar three for eight). At SNR Sons: Ramakrishna MHSS 108 in 25 overs lost to Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidyalaya MHSS 109 for no loss in 13.2 overs (R. Arun Balaji 50 n.o.); RKS Kalvi Nilayam HSS 260 for eight in 25 overs (N. Rajaraman 72, Manikandan 49) bt Raghavendra MHSS 58 in 10.4 overs (R. Marimuthu six for 25). — Sports Reporter
