THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala University Union will organise a science and technology exhibition from January 24 to 28 and a book fair from January 24 to February 4. This year’s union youth festival will be held here from February 18 to 23. The decisions were announced at a press conference here on Tuesday by Union chairperson Chintha Jerome. As many as 10,000 students from 176 colleges would participate in the fest. An organising committee and various sub-committees have been formed for the smooth conduct of the youth festival, she said. Minister for Home Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will inaugurate the science and technology exhibition at the University College here. The cultural programmes being organised in connection with the exhibition will be inaugurated on January 25 by Tamil writer Neela Padmanabhan. Winner of the Kendra Sahitya Akademi award Sethu will be felicitated by the Union as part of the book festival. Sukumar Azhikode, political leaders T. Sivadasa Menon, G. Karithikeyan, C.P. John and KTDC chairman Cherian Philip are scheduled to speak.
