One held for woman’s death

VILLUPURAM: A. Krishnammal (40), wife of Aiyyanar of Nannadu, was found dead in a farm at Annamalai V. Palayam near here on Tuesday. The woman’s neck bore marks of strangulation, the police said.

A sniffer dog led the police to the house of S. Sivakandan (25). During an interrogation, he confessed to having committed the crime.

According to the police, Krishnammal used to supply milk to the Sivakandan household till a month ago. However, she fell out with the family. Sivakandan had reportedly strangled her while she was grazing cattle. He also took away her earrings and ‘mangalsutra.’ The police arrested Sivakandan on Wednesday .
