VIJAYAWADA: The route for the ‘10 K Tiranga Run’ scheduled to be held on February 3 has been finalised by the logistics committee of the run. The run would be flagged off at Swaraj Maidan and would wade through Mahatma Gandhi Road. After reaching Benz Circle, the run would proceed towards Executive Club, Andhra Loyola College, Gunadala Panchayat, Gunadala Centre and reach Machavaram Down on Karl Marx Road. From Machavaram Down, the participants would proceed towards Maruthi Nagar, Seetharamapuram Junction and head towards Pushpa Hotel Centre at Red Circle, before reaching the finishing point – Swaraj Maidan. “We made some modifications to the earlier route and now the entire stretch is exactly 10 kilometers,” said District Sports Development Officer B. Sudhakar on Wednesday. Mr. Sudhakar also said that efforts were being made to videograph the entire run to avoid impersonators entering the run in the middle, carrying a similar bib number. “It will be very difficult observe the entire run manually. The technical committee will discuss with the organising committee the issue of deploying videographers to record the run,” he explained.
