This Day That Age
The total plan expenditure for the next financial year (third year of the Second Five Year plan) will be about Rs.950 crores — R.500 crores for the Central schemes and the balance for the States projects, it was learnt in New Delhi on January 22, from sources close to the Planning Commission. This is Rs.100 crores more than the estimated actual expenditure during the second year, and Rs.200 crores more than the actuals in the first year. India will spend in the first three years of the plan roughly Rs.2,500 crores. This will leave a balance of Rs.2,300 cores to be spent in the last two years of the Plan, if the original plan expenditure of Rs.4,800 crores is to be incurred in the public sector.
