10 billion ARMs are out there

BANGALORE: U.K.-based ARM (the company that makes and licences the ubiquitous ARM processor core technology) on Wednesday announced that its partners had shipped ten billion processors — since the first ARM core became available 17 years ago. ARM, originally Advanced Risc Machine grew out of research in Cambridge University and soon became the dominant computing technology licensed by the vast majority of small and portable device makers.— Special Correspondent
