Netaji remembered

Garlanding of the statue of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose at Jhansi Rani Park here by different political parties marked the 111th birth anniversary of the leader of freedom movement on Wednesday. K. John Moses, State general secretary, Janata Dal (Secular), N. Sethuraman, president, All India Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam, and S. Velusamy, general secretary, Democratic Forward Bloc, were among those who garlanded the statue. The Democratic Forward Bloc wanted the Centre to declare January 23 a national holiday as a mark of respect for Netaji. — Staff Reporter
