Teaching option for medical officers
Staff Reporter
ADILABAD: Director of Medical Education Y.V. Chary on Thursday asked medical officers at the government headquarters hospital to exercise their option for joining the teaching hospital as faculty members.
The headquarters hospital will be converted into a teaching hospital from next academic year as the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, comes into being. The DME was here to explain in detail the employment prospects and procedures at the RIMS in order to remove certain apprehensions among doctors.
He said once the medical officers at the hospital exercised their option, clarity would be gained on vacancy position and a notification for recruitment of faculty could be issued.
Dr. Chary said the RIMS was declared as semi-autonomous institution in order to offer better salaries to the faculty. He said the medical officers could join as faculty either on deputation or on contract.
