BJP accuses Congress of ‘match fixing’ over Telangana

HYDERABAD: State BJP president Bandaru Dattatreya on Thursday charged the pro-Telangana leaders in the Congress and supporters of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara of indulging in ‘match fixing’ on Telangana issue and demanded that the Central leadership of the ruling party spell out its stand.

At a press conference here, he said the delay on the part of Congress in spelling out its stand showed that the party was opposed to Telangana. He accused the Congress of trying to ridicule Telangana sentiment with different groups within the party voicing divergent views. He said the Telugu Desam and CPI (M) also were doing ‘match fixing’ in the name of an integrated State.

Asked if BJP and TRS too were doing the same, he maintained that the BJP had taken a transparent stand on Telangana.

He made light of the ‘BC Garjana’ organised by Telugu Desam at Warangal saying it was basically meant to prove its existence in Telangana.
