Mr. Bishnuram Medhi was sworn in as the Governor of Madras at 4 p.m. on January 24 at Rajaji Hall, Mount Road. The Solemn Affirmation which Mr. Medhi made to assume the office of Governor was administered to him by the officiating Chief Justice of Madras, Mr. Justice P. Rajagopalan.
