Moving picture

The front page picture of Palestinians crossing the border into Egypt to secure essential commodities after militants exploded the wall between the Gaza Strip and Egypt (Jan. 24) was moving. Palestine has been reeling under a humanitarian crisis due to the Israeli blockade of the past few days. When world powers, including the Arab nations, have turned a blind eye to the sufferings of the Palestinians, thrust upon them due to unjust Israeli occupation of their territories, it was heartening to read that the Egyptian military forces did not prevent the entry of civilians into their territory.
