Lalu’s plea to be heard on Monday

Special Correspondent

PATNA: The State government on Thursday concluded its arguments challenging the acquittal of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and the former Chief Minister, Rabri Devi, in the disproportionate assets case. The Patna High Court decided to hear the defence on Monday.

The Bench of Justice R.K. Datta will decide the issue of admission of the State government’s petition after hearing the counter arguments of senior apex court lawyer Ram Jethmalani representing Mr. Prasad and his wife in the matter.

Spread over two days, the State government’s lawyer argued against the CBI special court’s ruling contending that the lower court had ignored evidences pertaining to asset evaluation of the couple and that it had based its judgment not on evidences produced before it but on the findings of the IT Tribunal.
