Girl run over by train

TAMBARAM: A Plus-Two student was killed on the spot after being hit by an electric train when she was crossing track near Meenambakkam Railway Station on Monday evening.

Personnel at the Government Railway Police Station, Tambaram, identified the victim as M. Kalaiarasi (18). Daughter of Manickam of Panapakkam in Villupuram district, Kalaiarasi was staying with her elder sister on Odai Street, Pazhavanthangal, and was studying at a government school in Nanganallur.

On Monday evening, she left home to buy books and stationery.
