SCR specials to clear holiday traffic

HYDERABAD: The South Central Railway will run special trains between here and Tirupati to clear the rush of holiday traffic.

A press release said train No. 709 will leave here at 9.45 p.m., on Friday and reach Tirupati at 11.15 a.m. on Saturday. En route, it will touch Kazipet, Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada, New Guntur, Tenali, Bapatla, Chirala, Ongole, Kavali, Nellore, Gudur, Venkatagiri, Srikalahasti and Renigunta.

On the return, No. 710 will leave Tirupati at 2.15 p.m. on Sunday. Another SCR release said for the convenience of pilgrims attending the Bible Mission’s annual convention at Pedakakani on Guntur-Vijayawada section, specials would be run apart from augmenting and extending the run of certain trains, while providing temporary stoppages at Pedakakani between January 26 and 28.

The trains include No. 452/481 Narasapur-Guntur-Narasapur, 418 Macherla-Bhimavaram, 417 Guntur-Macherla, 498 Narasapur-Guntur and 427 Nandyal-Guntur passengers and Nos. 2709/2710 Gudur-Secunderabad-Gudur Simhadri Express, among others.
